Nerveimplantater: Liten design, trådløs kommunikasjon og følsomhet for vev

· 11 October 2026 · 0 kommentarer

What is Neuroprosthetics and What Are Its Purposes? Neuroprosthetics (also called neural prosthetics) is a field of science related to the development of neural prostheses, often compared to the brain-computer interface that connects the brain to a computer, rather than a device that aims to replace missing biological functions. Neural prostheses are a range of devices that can replace motor, sensory, or cognitive functions that may have been damaged as a result of an injury or disease.

These implantable devices are also widely used in animal experiments to help neuroscientists better understand the brain and its functioning. By wirelessly monitoring the electrical signals sent from the brain through electrodes implanted in the subject, research can be conducted on the subject without the device affecting the results. Correctly analyzing and recording the electrical signals in the brain will help better understand the relationship between the local neuron population responsible for a particular function.
